Victoria Brook
Executive Director, Arkose

Hi! I’m Victoria. I run Arkose, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting AI safety research. For the past five years, I’ve been working on understanding and mitigating the large-scale risks posed by advanced AI systems, with a focus on fostering collaboration within the research community.
Before leading Arkose, I contributed to several small AI safety organizations, where I helped bridge gaps between researchers, practitioners, and emerging AI safety talent. My work has ranged from organizing research-focused events and talks with experts from Google DeepMind, Anthropic, and the Centre for AI Safety, to teaching courses aimed at training the next generation of researchers across undergraduate and graduate levels.
My path to AI safety began with a background in medicine and neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh, where I developed a strong foundation in complex systems thinking. Since then, I’ve been working to support the community of researchers and policy-makers working on mitigations for large-scale or catastrophic risks from AI.
